Rebecca Murray

Rebecca has conducted cases on a range of direct and indirect tax issues in the First Tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber), the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber) and the High Court. She was Junior Counsel on the two largest tax avoidance cases in 2011 – 2015: Tower MCashback (a landmark Supreme Court case) led by Kevin Prosser QC and Eclipse Film Partners (No 35) LLP, led by Malcolm Gammie QC, tax avoidance schemes involving over £4billion of tax and in BAA v HMRC, a landmark case in the Court of Appeal on a European law point on the recovery of input tax incurred by a takeover vehicle. She is experienced in all aspects of preparing for and appearing in court and prides herself on maintaining a positive attitude for success and being a team player.
